Supply of female animals increase; fed cattle prices drop

Cepea, March 5, 2025   CATTLE – The supply increase of female animals to slaughter and the pressure of wholesale market agents for price drops to retailers influenced the strategy of meatpackers in February.   Data from Cepea indicate that prices of female animals were distant from heifer quotations in some states in late February.
