Price moves up, but trades remain limited

Cepea, September 1st, 2026 – Cotton prices increased in the Brazilian market in late August, supported by sellers’ firm stance and gains in international prices.   Buyers with immediate needs for raw material, in turn, showed greater willingness to purchase new batches, especially higher-quality cotton. On the other hand, some of these players remained cautious, offering lower prices amid difficulties in passing raw material price increases on to manufactured goods
