26/27 season may have higher supply and moderate prices

Cepea, January 15, 2026 – The global sugar market may register larger supply in the 2026/27 crop. As for Brazil, the biggest producer and exporter in the world, the expectation is that the cane crushing progresses in the Central-South, sustained by the return of rainfall in late 2025, by the moderate area increase and weather conditions that are closer to the historical average. The output is likely to surpass 620 million tons of cane, which increases the supply potential, although the productivity depends on the volume of rainfall in the summer
